In a fun, enthusiastic and magic format, the recital will showcase several of the unforgettable franchise characters, such as the Ewoks, Princess Leia, the Robots, and many more.

Dance Centre West Director and Instructor, Mary Nosek-Wagner said she decided to present the Star Wars theme this year because of her love to John Williams’ music and the great possibilities this music provides to get creative with the variety of characters the franchise presents.

Being a dance instructor for 47 years and presenting a different recital in Douglas since 1994, Nosek-Wagner perceives her job as a passion for dancing and as a responsibility of sharing her knowledge with the community, specially the children and the youth.

“I feel this is a big responsibility for me to provide my students the opportunity to experience the form, to learn how to do it properly and most importantly to let them have fun,” Nosek expressed. “And I will continue doing what I love because there are some very talented kids here and if we can hold them enough so they can get really good and if they really want to dance and their parents support them we would make sure to send them to a place where they could get all the training they need to succeed.”

Tickets for the recital are $6, 10 for $50 and will be $7 at the door on the day of the show. For more information, please call Ms. Mary Nosek-Wagner at 364-6731, or visit Dance Centre West, located at 1022 East 11th St.
