Panthers down Bombers in DGSL play
Kryptonites improve to 9-0

The Panthers defeated the ACT Royal Bombers 15-8 in local DGSL juniors play Friday night at the 15th Street Park improving to 5-4 on the season.


Caroline Curiel was the winning pitcher.

Kendra Nelson led the Panthers hitting 3 for 4 Kiara Hernandez hit 2 for 3. Katrina Hartman and Yasmin Torres each hit 2 for 2, Vivika Pedroza, Paola Magana and Curiel each were 1 for 3 and Reyna Hernandez was 1 for 2.

The night before the Panthers beat the Lady Titans 12-9.

Peroza and Alejandra Sepulveda each hit 2 for 2 this game while Hartman and Nelson each were 2 for 3, Nohelia Holguin was 1 for 2 and Hernandez 1 for 1.

On May 14 the Backdrop Photo Kryptonites improved to 9-0 after knocking off the Estrella She Devils 6-3.

Yessika "Keka" Galaz and Aileen Luna each pitched in the game or Backdrop.Galaz gave up one hit, fanned seven and walked one. Luna was tagged for two hits, fanned one and walked two.Anie Cisneros, Dina Terrazas and Galaz each hit 2 for 3 this game, Vanessa Moreno was 1 for 3; Carla Ramirez Tapia 1 for 2; Angela Munoz and Sofia Martinez both went 1 for 1.“The girls had a bit of a shaky start, but none of them gave up,” Coach Jessica Galaz said afterwards. “They continued to battle against the She Devil's pitcher and on the field.”The coach said Yasmin Flores had two great double plays from right field one of which ended the game.“All of our girls played an awesome game,” she said. “We are all very proud of them.”

On May 10 the Panthers fell to the She Devils 9-4.

Curiel hit 2 for 2 this game while Alejandra Leon was 1 for 2. Hernandez and Pedroza each had two walks.

On May 7 the Panthers fell to the league leading Kryptonites 12-1.

Curiel hit 2 for 2 this game while Hartman and Pedroza each were 1 for 2. Hernandez was 1 for 2.
