DHS student receives National Honor

The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced that Douglas High School student Julian Gonzalez has been selected for membership. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the family that established the Nobel Prizes.



Nobel recognized that hard work and commitment that Gonzalez has demonstrated to achieve a level of academic excellence.

“Julian is now a member of a unique community of scholars, a community that represents our very best hope for the future,” Nobel said.

Through the membership, Gonzalez is now entitled to enjoy a wide variety of benefits, including scholarship opportunities, academic competitions, free events, member-only resources, publications, participation in programs offered by educational partners, online forums, personalized recognition items and publicity honors.

Gonzalez was a member of the Junior Honor Society and since middle school he demonstrated to be committed to do community service on behalf of others.

Now that Gonzalez is graduation from the High School he will attend to the Mesa Community College to pursue a degree in Medicine.
