Thanks to the support of car owners, local and regional businesses and general public the 16th annual Car Show by the Douglas Street Rods was once again a big success on May 27 at Castro Park.

Customized and original cars such the 1955 Chevy, 1937 Ford, 1967 Chevelle, or the 1958 Bel-Air were among the 68 cars presented at the exhibit, which had the intention to honor the veterans, a day before Memorial Day. The show was divided in 21 different categories in order to be fair at the competition to all participants.

Douglas Street Rods President Pie Escarcega said the club was satisfied with this year’s turnout and they will continue doing the show in order to let people enjoy something different and give them an opportunity to help local organizations through their donations. He also said profits from this year’s event will be used to fund local charitable activities.

Escarcega also thanked the endless support of the more than 40 sponsors that have made the Car Show possible every year.
