Former Douglas High School swimmer was named an All-American by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association.

In addition both Young and Rodrigo Martinez were named Academic All-Americans.

Young, who graduated May 25 from Douglas High School is headed to the University of Utah in August.

Young is currently Tucson training for the Olympic Trials later this month in Omaha, Neb. for Tucson Ford Dealer Aquatics which has qualified 45 swimmers for the Olympic Trials, the most in the U.S.

Young will compete in the 200 Breaststroke.

In addition to Young, Tucson Ford Dealer Aquatics teammates Maggie McCord and Sara Borendame were also named All-Americans.

    " Congratulations to the Young Family! Brandon is a great young man. He will make Douglas proud because he is "Bulldog" and the entire community will be rooting for him. Keep it up Brandon and for all those people who are quick to put Douglas down show them they do not speak for everyone!
