Douglas man held in child molestation case

A 59-year old Douglas man has been taken into custody for his alleged involvement in a possible child molestation case.

According to Carol Capas of the Cochise County Sheriffs Dept. at approximately 1:53 pm, on Tuesday, May 15, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office was advised of a possible child molestation case in the Douglas area.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded and spoke to an 11 year old female who provided information regarding child molestation that she was the victim of.

Capas said Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives made contact with Manuel Salcido, also known as Francisco Camacho of Douglas.

Salcido was interviewed in regards to this incident and was subsequently arrested and booked into the Cochise County Jail on two counts of sexual conduct with a minor and two counts of child molestation.

As of press time Salcido remains in custody without bond on these charges.

Capas said the investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

    " There is also a guy by this name from Tucson who is 60. Probably not the same person but there has been a child molestation there and a girl abducted, Isabel Celis, both in and from their own homes. What is this guys MO? "
