A 20-year old woman was arrested last week after she allegedly tried to smuggle a 2-year-old boy across the border and into the United States.

According to U.S. Customs Officials on June 5 officials at the Douglas Port of Entry were screening travelers applying for entry into the United States.

They became suspicious of Abigail Meraz Valenzuela, 20, who was pushing a stroller with a young child.

Officers determined that Meraz was attempting to smuggle the 2-year-old for monetary gain and she was immediately arrested on charges of alien smuggling.

It is unclear if Valenzuela is from Mexico or another country. The boys name or nationality was also not available from U.S. Customs Officials.
