A journey to Douglas

Dear Editor:

It is with humble hearts that we write this letter. Many months ago we began a journey that has led us to this community where we now manage a center to help its citizens. As representatives of Summit Life Ministries, we were led to bring items to the old KMart center owned by Pastor Fernando Betancourt and weigh whether there was a need or demand for fruits, vegetables and other items for low donations here in Douglas.

Pastor Betancourt, who is the pastor of MINISTERIOS TIERRA DE BENEDICION partnered with Summit Life to create an atmosphere of love and commitment in this endeavor. Without his help and the help of many of his parishioners this great event would not have been a success. We thank them for their support. The citizens have embraced us and our mission which is to help Douglas community members in any way we can while sending missionaries throughout the world to supply much needed help and love there as well. We are a nonprofit organization with hopes of making a difference wherever we go.

Our center is located at the corner of H Avenue and 7th Street in Douglas, AZ. Our new hours of operation are: Monday through Friday from 10 am to 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. We are closed on Sundays. We bring in truckloads of items that require very low minimum donations where we believe everyone who comes in will leave completely satisfied and blessed.

The items that we are carrying this week are: Bathroom tissue: 4 rolls for $1, Paper towels: 2 rolls for $1, Diapers: 20/25 for $4 (Depending on size), Sobe Drink: 12 pack for $2, 1 Liter Arrowhead Water(18 pack): $6, Water in 1 quart size (20 pack): $4, and many $1, $2 and $3 bins to look through for GREAT deals.

We receive truck loads often and are different from the previous loads. We will be opening a fruit and vegetable area in the center soon as well. We look forward to serving all citizens. Please come in and take a look. Ask Adam Garcia or one of us any questions you may have. We may not be pretty but we believe you will leave satisfied.

Sincerely,

Mike and Sharon Rochin
