“We are taking precautions, asking surrounding fire departments to be on site July 4 and also advised Agua Prieta fire department to be on hand,” the chief said.

Fireworks will be held across the Veteran’s Memorial Park at dusk on July 4.

In addition the City of Douglas will be hosting the 4th of July Street Fair on G Ave. between 10th and 12th street.

This is how Douglas used to celebrate 4th of July in downtown Douglas, due to this year being Arizona’s Centennial we want to have the celebration downtown, the Chief said.

The July 4 parade begins at 10 a.m., after the parade there will be live music, food vendors and games at the Street Fair, from 10 a.m.– 4 p.m.

The Douglas Historical Society will be having an open house from 11-2. Photos past Douglas parades will be on display along with lemonade and cookies at the Douglas Williams House at 100 D Ave.

For any further information on the July 4 activities or those interested in signing up for the parade my contact Elizabeth Daniel, Douglas Recreation Center, at 520-417-7340. Deadline for parade sign up will be July 3.
