Aquatic Center begins summer fun

Douglas summer began with over a 100 kids signing up for swimming lessons at the Douglas Aquatic Center on 15th Street.

The Aquatic Center offers a number of ways to cool off this summer, starting with the Lap Swim Monday thru Friday from 5-8 a.m.; 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 7-11 a.m.

Their Therapy Pool opens an hour after lap swim and all day Saturday.

They also offer open swim Monday thru Wednesday 2-5 p.m.

Also new this year at the Aquatic Center is the Baby Pool which is open Monday through Wednesday.

The racquetball courts, adjacent to the Aquatic Center, are also open during all lap and open swim hours.

The next session is scheduled to run from June 18 thru June 27; cost of the lessons are $30.

At the Veteran’s Memorial Park Pool on 8th St, open swim Thursday thru Sunday 1-5 p.m. and Teen Night Swim began on June 8 and continues through July 27 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Pool officials invite everyone to come and enjoy the glow n the dark fun, contests, music and a snack bar, be sure to bring your friends.
