Kryptonites improve to 12-0

With the DGSL regular season winding down the Backdrop Photography Kryptonites improved to 12-0 after picking up two more wins last week.

On June 6 the Kryptonites defeated the Dynamites 11-2.

Aileen Luna was the winning pitcher fanning seven, walking two and allowing no runs off two hits in three innings in the circle.

Yasmine Flores threw one inning in relief and gave up two runs off two hits while walking four.

Andrea Cruz hit 2 for 3 this game; Yessika “Keka” Galaz was 2 for 2 with a double; Luna and Carla Tapia were also each 2 for 2; Vanessa Moreno and Sofia Martinez each were 1 for 2; Jenessa Salazar was 1 for 2 with a triple; Dina Terrazas and Flores were each 1 for 1.

On June 5 the Kryptonites downed the Ortega’s Cardinals 8-1.

Galaz was the winning pitcher this game giving up no runs off one hit while fanning four in two innings in the circle.

Luna threw two innings in relief and gave up one run off two hits while fanning three and failing to allow a walk.

Marilyn Aceves and Terrazas were each 1 for 1 in hitting this game. Martinez and Tapia each were 1 for 2. Cruz, Luna, Galaz, Salazar and Anie Cisneros were each 1 for 3.

On June 1 the Kryptonites defeated the Lady Titans 16-4.

Luna, Galaz and Flores all pitched in this game with Luna getting the win.

Cruz, Salazar and Moreno each hit 3 for 3 this game. Luna, Galaz and Cisneros each were 2 for 3; Aceves and Terrazas were each 1 for 1.

The Kryptonites have four games left in their regular season. The big showdown will be Monday, June 18 when they have a rematch with the second place Keystones at 8:30 p.m. at the 15th Street Park.

The Purple Panthers saw their record drop to 6-5 following a 14-5 loss to the Keystones June 8.

Carolina Curiel was the losing pitcher.

Vivika Pedroza hit 3 for 3 with a double for the Panthers. Kiara Hernandez and Katrina Hartman each were 1 for 2, Kendra Nelson 1 for 3 with a triple and Curiel had a single and Nohelia Holguin had two walks.

On May 29 the Panthers defeated the Dynamite 18-8.

Alejandra Leon and Curiel each pitched in this game.

Hernandez had two walks, Paola Magana was 1 for 1 with two walks, Hartman 3 for 3 with a double, Nelson 1 for 2, Curiel 2 for 2 with a home run, Alejandra Sepulveda was 1 for 1, Yasmin Torres, Genesis Galaz and Yoselyn Pickell each had walks.
