Last July while celebrating his fifth birthday with his cousin Debanny, Rene Robles suffered a one hour seizure.

By the third day Robles woke wanting to continue his birthday celebration. Unfortunately, this could not happen since he was to stay at TMC for the next seven days. By the sixth day the staff at TMC made his stay very special.
Staff provided Robles and his cousin Debanny a belated birthday celebration, giving both of them presents and sang “Happy Birthday” to them.
“This was a great way to help cope with the healing process…” said his mother Lupita Robles.
This sparked an idea for both Rene and his older sister Rachel; they wanted to take a truck load of toys to the pediatric patients at TMC.
“Our children stated how nice it was for them to have gotten gifts and how it made the time pass by a lot quicker,” Lupita said.
The Robles’s have collected a total of $313 with $113 coming from a yard sale they held on Saturday, and another $200 that was donated from the Douglas Street Hot Rods later that afternoon.
The funds will be used to purchase toys for patients at TMC.
“We will purchase the toys from the Douglas Wal-Mart on the 21st and take them to TMC on the 23rd,” Lupita said. “This is our way of saying thanks for making Rene’s stay comfortable and enjoyable and helping with his healing process.”
The Robles’s will be excepting donations until Friday July 20. If you would like to make a donation or donate a new toy, contact Lupita Robles at 520-234-1660.
