Romana “Nana” Silveira Valenzuela

Romana “Nana” Silveira Valenzuela has passed on to be with our Lord. Nana was born on July 26, 1921 to Leonor Nunez and Francisco Silveira in San Miguelito de Bavispe, Sonora, Mexico.


Preceding Nana in death is her husband Antonio McGrew Valenzuela of 32 years of marriage, her parent’s, daughters Ana Maria S. Valenzuela and Leonor S. Valenzuela. Surviving are sons Antonio S. Valenzuela, Francisco S. Valenzuela, Santiago “Jimmy” S. Valenzuela, and daughters Rafaela S. Edwards and Guadalupe Valenzuela. Also surviving are brothers Francisco Silveira, Raul Silveira, Cruz Silveira, Gustavo Silveira and sisters Socorro Ortega, Berta Fierros, Maria Teresa A. Silveira, Irene Silveira and Refugio Silveira. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Nana was a wonderful and loving mother and home maker. Nana loved music, dancing and doing the ultimate for her family.

A viewing will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 from 10:00-12:00. Graveside services followed at Calvary Cemetery with Fr. Gilbert Malu.

Pallbearers were Francisco S. Valenzuela, Raul Valenzuela, Santiago S. Valenzuela, Jim Edwards and Alex Nelson and Arnoldo Silveira. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Antonio “Tony” Valenzuela, Troy Justin Henderson, Troy D. Henderson, Brian Valenzuela, Aaron J. Seals and Seth Henderson.

Final arrangements were under the direction of Alex Espinosa Funeral Home, 1860-8th street, 520-364-2121, Alex Espinosa Funeral Director.
