Bomb threat closes Douglas POE By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch Shortly after noon Thursday July 19 the Douglas Port of Entry was closed after an alleged bomb threat was made. According to Edith Serrano, Chief CBP Public Affairs Liaison, Customs and Border Protection’s Douglas Port of Entry received a telephone call from the Douglas Police Department regarding a possible bomb threat at the Douglas Port of Entry. Officers from the Douglas Police Department stopped traffic from going into Mexico starting at Third Street and G Ave. CBP took the appropriate actions to ensure the safety of the public and its employees by securing the area; stopping north and south bound traffic for approximately 30 minutes, until it was deemed safe to return to normal operations. The investigation into the alleged threat is continuing.
