Romana "Nana" Silveira Valenzuela has passed on to be with our Lord on July 18, 2012. Nana was born on July 26, 1921 to Leonor Nunez Silveira and Francisco Silveira in San Miguelito de Bavispe, Sonora, Mexico.

Preceding Nana in death is her husband of 32 years, Antonio McGrew Valenzuela, her parents, two of her daughters, Ana Maria S. Valenzuela and Leonor S. Valenzuela, her brothers, Francisco N. Silveira, Raul B. Silveira, Cruz B. Silveira and Gustavo B. Silveira and her sister, Refugio B. Silveira.

Surviving are her sons: Antonio "Tony" S. Valenzuela, Francisco "Frankie/Pancho" S. Valenzuela, Santiago "Jimmy" S. Valenzuela as well as daughters: Rafaela "Rae/Payaya" S. (Valenzuela) Edwards and Guadalupe "Lupe" S. Valenzuela. She also leaves a son-in-law who adored her and will miss her immensely, James "Jim/Jaime" L. Edwards and daughter-in-law, Rosario "Chayo" D. Valenzuela.

Also surviving are her sisters: Socorro Ortega, Bertha Fierros, Maria Teresa Silveira and Irene Silveira.

Nana leaves behind eight (8) grandchildren who adored her as well as fourteen (14) great-grandchildren who were the "light of her life" and doted on each of them as much and as often as she could; always "unconditional" love. She was blessed with the love of numerous nieces and nephews; some who up until the last day were always "there for her", doing as much as they could to make her life much brighter.

She leaves a legacy of always letting her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren know how much she loved and adored them as well as the rest of the family. Nana will live in the heart of each one of her family members and so many friends whose hearts she touched. She will not only be missed, but remembered for her kind and generous ways as well as someone who truly enjoyed life. She loved music, both singing and dancing and had one of the most contagious laughs possible.

A viewing was held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 followed by graveside services at Calvary Cemetery Fr. Gilbert Malu. Pallbearers were Francisco S. Valenzuela, Santiago S. Valenzuela, Jim Edwards, Raul Valenzuela, Arnoldo Silveira and Alex Nelson. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers were Antonio S. Valenzuela, Troy D. Henderson, Aaron J. Seals, Troy J. Henderson, Brian Valenzuela and Seth Henderson.

Final arrangements were under the direction of Alex Espinosa Funeral Home, 1860 8th Street, Douglas, AZ.
