Charger football/cheer practice begins

The Douglas Chargers Football and Cheer season starts today.


League President Ken Nelson said in order to participate every child must be paid in full and have all paperwork completed including physicals.

“The deadline to receive a refund was July 31,” he said. “If by the end of day on August 6 a participants paperwork including physical along with the entire registration fee is not on file and current with the league the participant will be dropped from the roster without a refund and will not play or cheer for the 2012 season.”

Nelson said DYFC has deadlines that are instituted by the SAYFL and the AYF organization that we must meet or risk not being allowed to compete.

The DYFC has been holding registration since February of this year giving all participants ample time to complete the registration process.

DYFC encourages all involved with the league including volunteers, players and parents to frequently view the leagues website at www.douglaschargers.org for news and information regarding the 2012 season.

Anyone interested in volunteering for the league must fill out a volunteer application and pass a background check.
