The Douglas City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers.

The Council will also hear a presentation from ADOT Transit Director Mike Normand and Program Manager Nicole Patrick concerning the transit program after which there will be some discussion regarding several resolutions and ordinances regarding transit bus fees, authorizing the execution of an intergovernmental agreement between the City of Douglas and the state of Arizona for pre-award funding for the transit program from July 1 to Sept. 30, 2012.
There will also be some discussion for the transit coordinator, dispatcher/administrative secretary and driver.
There will also be some discussion and possible passage of an ordinance pertaining to rules of conduct for council meetings.
The council will also discuss the resolution authorizing an amended agreement between the city and the state through ADOT pertaining to the design and construction of Chino Road from First Street to State Route 80.
Several proposed grants between the city and the State of Arizona Department of Homeland Security will also be discussed which will authorize some purchases as well as reimbursements for personnel overtime and employee related expenses.
The downtown parking situation will also be addressed towards the end of the meeting.
A special event liquor license request by Howard Henderson for the Douglas Fiestas Sept. 14-16 at Veterans Memorial Park is also expected to be discussed.
The Mayor and Council are also expected to recognize several employees.
Tonight’s meeting is open to the public.
