The Douglas City Council will hold its regular monthly meeting tonight at 6 p.m. in the City Hall council chambers.

There will also be some discussion for the transit coordinator, dispatcher/administrative secretary and driver.

There will also be some discussion and possible passage of an ordinance pertaining to rules of conduct for council meetings.

The council will also discuss the resolution authorizing an amended agreement between the city and the state through ADOT pertaining to the design and construction of Chino Road from First Street to State Route 80.

Several proposed grants between the city and the State of Arizona Department of Homeland Security will also be discussed which will authorize some purchases as well as reimbursements for personnel overtime and employee related expenses.

The downtown parking situation will also be addressed towards the end of the meeting.

A special event liquor license request by Howard Henderson for the Douglas Fiestas Sept. 14-16 at Veterans Memorial Park is also expected to be discussed.

" You are so right. We don't shop downtown because 9 times out 10, you can't park near the store you want to go to because the Merchant owner and all there employees are taking up all the spaces.Atleast with the 2 hour limit they would have to get out to move them enabling others a chance to get a space. " No time limit on downtown parking? That just means there still won't be any parking because all the merchant and their employees will be taking all the spots all day long.I hardly ever shop downtown because there is no parking. this plan will only make it worse because the merchants don't think about the customer needs.
