“We love it the patients love it, we have adequate room, it’s great,” Debbie Steiner, Director of Operations said, about the new building.
Pima Heart was founded in 1981 in Tucson and is dedicated to providing comprehensive cardiac care to patients in Southern Arizona. The physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff are committed to reducing the incidence, prevalence, and mortality of cardiovascular disease while providing quality care and personal service.
They provided cardiology consulting, EKG’s, echocardiogram, stress echocardiogram, vascular studies and nuclear imaging.
“We have expanded services in our nuclear imaging from every other week to every Tuesday, because we are now in our own space,” said Angelica Ordaz, Director of Business Development.
The space has helped us increase our nuclear studies, added Steiner.
Their goal is to increase the days the doctor and nurse practitioner are in the office.
“Currently the doctor is in the office on Tuesdays and the nurse practitioner is in on Tuesdays and every other Friday,” said Ordaz, “we would like to have them each here two days a week.”
Dr. Frank Molls and NP Deb Tanner are both out of Tucson and travel to Douglas to see about 80 patients a week.
Most importantly we have transitioned to electronic medical record keeping which are directly connected to our Tucson office, said Ordaz.
“As we transition that will help us develop addition doctors day and nurse practitioner day,” she said.
Pima Heart is open Tuesdays and every other Friday. They take all insurances if you do not have insurance you can call their finance department to make arrangements or the Douglas office at (520) 364-1359.
