Bertha was born on June 17, 1932 to Maria and Joaquin Luna in Azoques, Ecuador. Preceding her in death was her husband Luis A. Gonzales of 36 years of marriage; her parents, Joaquin and Maria Luna; brother Santiago Luna and sister Livia Luna.



Surviving is her daughter Alegria (John) Curiel of Elfrida, AZ, brothers Marco Luna, Fabiolo Luna as well as sisters Riquilda Luna, Diana Luna, Ruth (Gilbert) Place and Martha Luna. She also leaves behind three grandchildren Carolina, John Paul and Giovanna Curiel.

Bertha was a fashion designer in Los Angeles and in Quito, Ecuador. She loved playing chess and cards plus reading books.

A Rosary for Bertha is scheduled for Saturday, August 11, 2012-10:00 a.m. at St. Luke’s Catholic Church followed by the Mass of the Resurrection.

Pallbearers will be Lee Hedges, John Curiel, Humberto Ramirez, John Paul Curiel, Gerardo Miguez and Robert Swift.

Care entrusted to Alex Espinosa Douglas Funeral Home, 1860-8th Street, Douglas, AZ, 364-2121, Alex Espinosa Funeral Director.
