New Cochise College transit system to start Aug. 20

A new Cochise College transit service will begin on Monday, August 20.



The service is scheduled to run Monday – Thursday 6:50 a.m.–10:15p.m.

The transit system is a partnership between the City of Douglas, Cochise College and Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

The route to Cochise College will be: The beginning route will start from First Street and F Ave, east on First Street, with a stop at First Street and Customs Ave, they will travel north on Customs Ave, to north on Pan American, turn right on 11th Street, then stop at existing transfer station between H Ave and G Ave, then head east on 11th St to G Ave, north on G Ave to 80 West and Cochise College.

The route from Cochise College will travel east on route 80, south on Pan American, east on 11th St, stopping at existing transfer station between H Ave and G Ave, east on 11th St to G Ave, south on G Ave, west on First Street, and ending at First Street and Customs Ave.

Current Cochise College students with ID ride free, all other students pay 75 cents one way.

    I'm glad a transit system like this has started. Douglas is actually on the road to being modernized, albeit slowly. "
