Oscar Trujillo, 12, and Antonio Alvarado, 14, both sat in the cafeteria having lunch and talking about their summer vacation.

Trujillo looked over at Alvarado and noticed he was choking on something.

“I knew he wasn’t playing because his eyes were watery and he couldn’t talk,” Trujillo said.

“I was scared, I couldn’t breathe,” Alvarado, son of Yolanda and Antonio Alvarado, said.

Trujillo immediately jumped up and started the Heimlich maneuver on Alvarado. “I learned it on TV,” said the seventh grader matter-of-factly.

According to Principal Andrea Overman there was an adult present at the time of the incident, but Trujillo responded faster to his friends’ need of assistance.

Trujillo, son of Mercedes and Oscar Trujillo, said “it feels good to save someone’s life, I’m just glad I was there.”

When asked what he was choking on, Alvarado also a seventh grader said “I was eating peas, and just starting choking on them.”

" It should be "student's" not "students'". The first one is singular & posessive - one student's life - and the second is plural possessive - multiple students' lives. Only one kid was saved. If you want to seem like a credible news source, try proof reading.

    Just saying... "
