Betty Parsons Gillett

At 92, Betty peacefully passed away on July 17, 2012 in Tucson.



She was born in Port Dickinson N. Y. March 9 1920. She married Dana Gillett in 1941 and they enjoyed over 46 years together. They moved to Arizona in 1949 settling in Douglas, Arizona, where they established a successful heating and cooling business. After retiring to Tucson, Betty's life revolved around family, friends, and her church. As a member of Immanuel Presbyterian Church, she served in many ways including deacon. Betty lived her last seven years at Cascades of Tucson where she had many friends, both old and new.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and husband Dana. She is survived by daughters Susan (Dave) Kunz of Tucson, and Betsy, (Ron) Graves of Benson, Arizona. Also four grandchildren, John and Lindsey Kunz, Chad, (Cissi) Graves and Ashley, (Tom) Van Wart. The joys of her last three years were her two beautiful great-grandchildren, Sidney Quinn Graves and Chase Van Wart. She will be missed by all.

A memorial will be held to honor Betty at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church 9252 E. 22nd St., Tucson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements by Bring’s Broadway Chapel, bringfuneralhome.com.

    " I did not know Mrs Gillett that well However I did know Susan from our days in Douglas. Condolences to the family from Amy and Lynn Turney. "
