The luncheon, held at the Chiricahua Pediatric Center of Excellence, had over 45 in attendance.

Organizers Rosie Mendoza, Chiricahua Community Health; Alex Boneo, Douglas Community Coalition Coordinator and Adriana Romero, Cenpatico, thanked all of those who came together to make the fair a huge success.

Approximately 825 people attended the CARE Fair; 500 of those being children.

There were certificates handed out to all 37 organizations that participated and gave out school supplies to those who attended.

“We had very good participation not only for the organizations but also from the community.” Romero said. “Douglas is one of the communities that has the least resources compared to a lot of other surrounding areas but you always come together to help your community the most.”

Gifts stating “You must be the change you want to see in the world,” were given to both Boneo and Mendoza by Romero.

She felt that this statement described the influence they and all the organizations had on the community of Douglas.
