Former Councilman Jordan passes away

Former Ward 3 City Councilman Ramon “Hedgy” Jordan passed away peacefully at his home Sept. 5.


He was 92.

Jordan was a devoted City Councilman serving five terms from June of 1984 to June of 2004.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Lupe (his love of his life), his sons Lon and Don and daughters Ginny and Wendy. He also is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Uriel and Candelaria, brothers Robert, Raul, Luis, and Frank. He is survived by his brothers Albert (Maude), Bill (Dolores) and sisters Carmen (Cesar) Duran, Rita (Frank) Vigil, Mary (Charlie) Salcido, Helen (Jack) Schiemmer, and Lillian (Mike) Brunofski.

Viewing will be held at the Brown and Page Mortuary on Sunday from 4 – 6 p.m.

On Monday a rosary will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Douglas followed by mass at 11 a.m. Graveside services will follow immediately with military honors provided by the American Legion honor guard. A reception will be held at the Douglas Country Club.
