Marion Arlene Wilson
June 13, 1924-August 12, 2012

Marion Arlene Wilson was called home to be with her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ on August 12, 2012 after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was born to Eva Scribner and Herman Nelson on June 13, 1924 in Worcester, MA. She was married on October 31, 1948 to James Roger Wilson and would have celebrated 64 years of marriage this year. She served in the Army Air Corps from July 27, 1944-July 2, 1946 and held the rank of Staff Sergeant upon her honorable discharge. She received the following medals while enlisted in the Army, the Meritorious Award, the American Service Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. She was also a blue grass singer learning on her own how to play a guitar and performing before audiences. Her working career began at a bakery and then a retail store. In 1956 she and James left Massachusetts for Arizona and moved to Coolidge and then to Safford where she enjoyed picking cotton with the Native American women. She and James then moved to Douglas in 1957 where he worked for Safeway for many years and she was employed at Cochise County Hospital where she worked for 14 years as a nurse$B!G(Js aide and later helped develop the physical therapy program for the hospital with just her experience having no degree or education in that field. In 1976 she became the administrator of the Cypress Inn nursing home where she loved taking care of the elderly and worked there until 1983. Her last place of employment was the Douglas Drug where she retired in 1985 to help care for her grandson. She also helped Lita Turner with her restaurant Lotus Garden in the early eighties. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and served faithfully from 1959-1981. In 1981 she became a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church. Despite having arthritis she was able to climb a ladder in order to paint the church building at the age of 70 by herself. Her hobbies were loving and caring for her children and grandchildren, caring for the elderly, reading her Bible, praying, attending church, and taking care of and enjoying her animals. She has left five pugs and one cat behind who greatly miss her. She was always involved in church activities, the local 4-H club and the Cochise County Fair. She was preceded in the recent death of her spouse James Roger Wilson, her mother, her father and five siblings. She was the last living child. She is survived by daughters Kathleen Weiss of Fullerton, CA, Sandra O'Neil of Tucson, AZ, Rebecca Wilson of Douglas, AZ, and Amy Wilson of New York City, NY, grandsons Zachary Wilson (Janette) of Augusta, GA, Sean O'Neil of San Diego, CA, granddaughter Stephanie Minor of Guam and great grandson Devon Minor of Guam. Services will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church, (1301 E. 15th St.) with Pastor James Pitts officiating. Burial with full Military Honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zachary Wilson, Sean O$B!G(JNeil, James Pitts, Luke Pitts, Jon Sharps, David Kirlin, and Vernon Cardwell

Alejandro C. Espinosa, II
February 28, 1927-August 16,2012

Alejandro C. Espinsoa, II was born February 28, 1927 in Hermosillo, Mexico. Surrounded by his loving family, he walked into the arms of Jesus on August 16, 2012 in Douglas, Arizona. Alejandro served his country in the Korean War and worked for Phelps Dodge. He believed in family and was a dedicated father, grandfather and great grandfather. Preceded in death his parents Alejandro Espinosa and Maria Louisa Camou, siblings; Maria Louisa Estavillo, Laura Mercer, Carmen Corella, Guillermo Espinosa; son Ceasar Vasquez; daughter Lizette Verdugo; and wife Luz Maria Espinosa.

Reynaldo (Nano) P. Salazar

Reynaldo (Nano) P. Salazar passed away at his home surrounded by his family on August 15, 2012.  He was born in Torrance, CA and resided in Douglas most of his life.  He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Teresa Salazar, his brothers and sisters Otilia Posas, Eva Segovia, Hortencia Peralta, Rudy and George Salazar.  He is survived by his family, Celia Valdez Salazar, his wife of 68 years, daughter Brenda Salazar, grandson Del Cabarga and his wife Adazila Cabarga, granddaughter Brenda Lee Cabarga and her husband Charles Schubert, brother Ramiro Salazar of Perris, CA, and great grandchildren Karen and Liana Cabarga, Sebastian and Ellie Schubert along with many nieces and nephews. Nano was in active duty with the United States Army in the Asiatic Pacific from April 27, 1944 until February 7, 1946.  He received the following medals during his service:  the Good Conduct Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.  He was a loyal employee of the Fort Huachuca Accommodation School District and retired after many years of service.  He was a member of St. Luke’s Church, The American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Bushmasters, the 40 Alborotados, and the Douglas Country Club.  His favorite pastime was playing golf.  Services will be held at St. Luke’s Church on Monday, August 20, 2012, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Rosary at 10:00 A. M., a Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. followed by Military Graveside Services at Calvary Cemetery.  A reception will follow the burial at St. Luke’s Hall.

Dorothy A. Stephenson
January 22, 1927-August 2, 2012

Dorothy Ann Stephenson age 85, peacefully passed away on August 2, 2012. An ardent University of Arizona basketball fan, she enjoyed playing bridge and baking with her grandchildren. Dorothy and her husband Bob moved to Douglas in 1947 where he worked for Southern Arizona Auto Company and participated in many community activities. As her children began to attend school, Dorothy worked for the Administration Office at Cochise College and then later at the Phelps Dodge Smelter until it closed. Dorothy eventually retired in Tucson.
