Two Douglas men caught with 99 pounds of marijuana By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch On Aug. 3, Wilcox Border Patrol agents assigned to the Highway 90 checkpoint referred a vehicle with two occupants to secondary inspection. Further inspection revealed 99 pounds of marijuana concealed inside the vehicle, valued at $50,000. The driver, Gerardo Carrillo-Ramirez, 32, and passenger, Jaime Joel Rose, 31, both from Douglas, were allegedly arrested. Rose a Corrections Officer with the Arizona Department of Corrections in Douglas was terminated from his position after nine years of service on August 7. According to Agent Jeremy Copeland, Border Patrol Agent Public Affairs Officer, the case was submitted to the U.S. Attorney’s Office and accepted for prosecution.
