Douglas to host International Baseball Tournament

Team from all over Arizona and Mexico will be in Douglas this weekend for the International Baseball Tournament.

Games begin Friday at 3:30 p.m. at both the Termite Field on 18th Street as well as the 15th and 8th Street Parks.

Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m., play will resume at both fields and conclude Sunday with the championship round.

Opening ceremonies for the event will take place Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Veterans Park on 8th Street.

Teams in the 9-10 age group are: Douglas, Sunnyside, Sierra Vista, Nogales, Hermosillo and Liga Rodeo and Bachicuy both out of Mexico.

Teams in the 11-12 age group are: two teams from Douglas, Hermosillo, Bachicuy and the Vaqueritos out of Mexico.

Teams in the 7-8 age division were not available.

The event is free to the public.
