On Oct. 2, KDAP and the Greater Douglas Chamber of Commerce will hold a political forum at the Douglas Unified School District Administrative building from 7–9 p.m.

“I believe our forum will help our voters make a more informed decision at the polls,” said Chamber of Commerce Secretary, Danny Morales. “First impressions and face-to-face interactions are priceless and I hope they pay great dividends in our citizen’s hearts and minds.”

Many were invited from both the Republic and Democrat parties, and estimated 12 candidates running for office will be present.

Spokespersons for Ron Barber, U.S. House of Representatives, and Jeff Flake, U.S. Senate, will attend the forum. Both Barber and Flake will be in Washington D.C. and unable to attend.

The following candidates plan to attend the forum:

Democrat, Ann English Board of Supervisors District 2

Republican, Steven McDiarmid Board of Supervisors District 2

Democrat, Christine Rhodes County Recorder

Republican, Kathleen Miller County Recorder

Democrat, Robert Leach AZ House of Representatives LD 14

Democrat, Mark Stonebraker AZ House of Representatives LD14

Republican, David Gowan AZ House of Representatives LD 14

Democrat, Patricia Fleming AZ State Senate LD14

Democrat Joy Mims School Superintendent Cochise County

Republican, Trudy Berry School Superintendent Cochise County

Republican, Martha McSally U.S. House of Representatives Arizona

“We are really pleased with the number of candidates who have agreed to come to the forum. It's a good sign that the candidates think that Douglas votes can make a difference in the outcome of the election,” local Democrat Susan Bickel, said. “We in Douglas have a strong voice. If we all take responsibility for learning about the candidates and the issues that are important to us, we can make a difference on November 6.”

If you are not able to attend the forum it will be aired by Howard Henderson on KDAP 96.5 FM.
