JULIAN RAMIREZ Julian Ramirez of Douglas passed away on Saturday, September 22, 2012. He was born in Gleeson, Arizona on January 8, 1920. Julian spent most of his life in the Douglas area. In his early years he worked on the family farm in Elfrida. Later he worked for Jack Gilbert Construction and Maddux and Sons. When he wasn’t working in construction he was at his other job, playing pool at the B & P. Julian was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Refugio “Cuca” Ramirez who passed away on April 24, 2012. She was born on December 4, 1919 in Cabullona, Sonora, Mexico. They both came from a family of 10 brothers and sisters. Julian and Cuca are survived by their daughter Yolanda Bradley of Flagstaff, AZ and Humberto Ramirez of Tucson, AZ. Cuca is also survived by her brother Jesus Barra of Cubullona, Sonora and Julian is survived by his brothers Cruz Ramirez of Scottsdale, AZ, Geronimo Ramirez of Tucson, AZ and sisters Juanita Curiel of Elfrida, AZ and Guadalupe Thidemann of Sunnyvale, CA. They are also survived by 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. They will be greatly missed and they are together again! A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 28, 2012 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 also at Immaculate Conception Church. Pallbearers who will serve are Matthew Kies, Nicolas Ramirez, David Ramirez, Justin Riggs, John Curiel and Douglas DeAnda.
