While the season may not have gone the way he would have liked Douglas’ volleyball coach Carlos Chavez said he was proud of the effort the girls gave.

“They worked hard all season,” he said. “We started in June and we finished last week.”

The coach said he wishes his departing seniors well and is looking forward to working with the underclassmen who are moving up.

“The girls never gave up all season,” the coach said.
