DHS golfers conclude season

The Douglas High School golf team had its season end last week with matches in Douglas and Sierra Vista and a invitational in Tucson.

On Monday Oct. 15 the Bulldog golfers were in Sierra Vista taking on the Colts in a dual match at the Mountain View Golf Course in Fort Huachuca.

Buena won the match 154-173.

Jake Salmon and Eric Valenzuela led Douglas this match each with a score of 41. Robbie Romero followed with a 45, Andres Rico shot a 46 and Martin Valenzuela closed out with a 48.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16 the Bulldogs hosted Sahuaro in a dual match at the Douglas Golf Course. The Bulldogs beat the Cougars 168-198.

Martin Valenzuela led Douglas with a score of 39, Romero followed with a 41, Eric Valenzuela and Rico each shot scores of 44 and Salmon closed out with a 46.

The match with Cholla that was scheduled for Oct. 18 was cancelled when Douglas coaches were informed Cholla had just one golfer.

The Bulldogs played in a 27 hole tournament in Tucson Friday and Saturday. Those scores were not available at press time.
