Fall Festival takes place at DHS

The Douglas High School land lab, art and culinary departments plus the Bulldog 4-H Club held a Land Lab Festival this past Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the land lab located on Louie Ave. near the Joe Carlson School.

Local residents were able to go into the pumpkin patch which was run by the 4-H Department and pick their own pumpkins which were a variety of sizes. The 4-H also sold hamburgers, chips and a drink for $5 with all proceeds going to the 4-H club.

The Douglas High School art department provided face painting and Makensie Kimbro of the Douglas FFA provided walk through tours of the pond area and the frog Ranariums.

People wandered in throughout the morning and organizers for the event fell it was a success and plan on having another fall festival similar to this one next year.

The pumpkins that weren't sold Saturday were then sold Sunday at the Farmers Market.
