" Chuey is a very honest man, please lets not compare him to the thief who runs the mens softball league because Chuey is a very hard working and honest man who cares about our kids. "

" I agree with concerned parent hopefully everything is in order and things ran as smoothly as they say they did I am sure they did because Mr. Duarte is a very honest person who dedicates his time volunteering and running the leagues. "

    " Dear Question,

I hope you aren't one of the parents who just drops his kids off at practice and games and returns to pick them up when it is over. Basically a fancy day care service for you.

It easy to critisize from the outside. How about signing on to coach a team? Get on the Board of Directors?

God bless all the coaches, sponsors, Board of Directors, kids and especially the parents who actually help out. It always seems that in Douglas it is always the same dedicated people working on their own time to keep the city alive, while the same nay-sayers stand in the shadows and throw stones at them. "

" I really do hope that the money for player fees is being used wisely, because for some reason I have a feeling that the same thing that happens with the money from the mens softball league is happening here. At least AYSO has given an explanation as to where the money is going, on the other hand the mens softball league no one knows were the money goes and meetigns are never held to inform coaches of how things are going. "

" I nor did any of the other AYSO board memebers from this season have any financial gain. What I did gain was the satisfaction of volunteering and helping over 400 youth in this community play soccer and have fun. Thank you to "thankful parent" and to "question" there just aren't enough words...we must all remember, it's all for OUR children. "

" First of all, thank you to the parent that posted below. We had all this financial information available during registration and we still have it available, if you need to see where the money went. The Board and I are really in it for the children of Douglas. Remember this year the fee went up from last year but NOT 1 family had to go out and sell any tickets for a fundraiser. In closing, it was a good season, we had our ups and downs but overall the kiddos had fun on the playing field. Thank you all for the support. "

Thankful parent wrote on Nov 22, 2012 11:38 PM:

" I for one would like to thank the AYSO board for a great season. Thank you Mr. Chuy Duarte, Mr. Jerry Curfman, Mrs. Gina Tartaglia, Mrs. Terry Vera, Mr. Gabriel Ortega and Mr. Larry Moss for all you did for our children. For your information, AYSO player fees for insurance are $15 per player, the uniform averages about $20 per player, the trophies anywhere from $5 to $7 per player. Then they probably bought soccerballs and other equipment for the league including uniforms for referees and shirts for coaches. These are honest people in our community helping the kids out. I am sure they have financial records because everything has to go through the National AYSO. I do recommend you get ahold of the board if you have questions or better yet, VOLUNTEER your time to get involved with your child. Thank you for a great season and may God bless you all. "

Question wrote on Nov 21, 2012 3:04 PM:

" I have two boys playing in the league and alot of parents have shared a concern about the money we pay for player fees alot of parents were saying that this money goes into the pockets of the people running the league. It would be nice if we were explained were this money is because it seems a little odd. "

" Thank you Dispatch for the support and coverage all season long. "
