The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) will continue work on a pavement preservation project on Pan American Ave. this week.

ADOT crews prepared the one mile segment of Pan American Avenue between 14th and First Street’s for a new surface coat that will improve driving conditions and extend the life of the roadway on Nov. 12.

Motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. one lane will remain open for traffic in each direction.

From Nov. 13 - 15, crews will apply a thin surface coat on the pavement, requiring alternating lane closures daily from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m. During this work, one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction as well.

Access will be maintained to area businesses and cross streets at most times, with brief intermittent restrictions when necessary to conduct the work.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
