Sixth annual Pit Fire Festival: Ignite your creative spark
DOUGLAS — Ceramic pit firing is the oldest traditional method of firing clay wares, dating back to the Mesopotamian era. Cochise County’s ancient roots can be traced through pottery shards found in archaeological digs surrounding the Douglas campus.

ACT collects food for the holiday
The ACT Call Center on 10th Street gathered food for the Thanksgiving holiday. According to Supervisor Christy Rios all three departments at the Call Center gathered a total of 500 canned goods, 100 bags of perishable items and 63 boxes of mashed potatoes. “Everything we collected was for a Thanksgiving dinner. We gave the food to St. Luke’s Catholic Church,” Rios said. Pictured above are the agents and supervisors at ACT. 2012 4-H & FFA Cochise County Fair livestock results
The 2012 Cochise County Fair was a great success with many exhibits displayed by 4-H and FFA youth members. Below are the Champion and Reserve award winners from the livestock and small stock divisions. Chargers win big at the SAYCL competition
An estimated 250 girls, ages 5-14, traveled to Benson from all over Cochise County on Nov. 3 to compete in the Southern Arizona Youth Cheer League event which took place at Benson High School gym.
Trunk or Treat attracts over 2,500 children
