Douglas man indicted on murder charges By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch Israel Romo Ysea, aka Tata Ysea, who’s currently at the Cochise County jail, has been indicted in the murder of a Douglas man. Ysea was indicted Nov. 8 by the Cochise County grand jury on charges of the murder of Guillermo Cruz. Ysea allegedly stabbed and killed Cruz over an unknown reason on Oct. 17. He was arrested on Oct. 24 after eight days of intense searching. According to Douglas Police Departments Public Information Officer Mark Wilkinson, Ysea was located after extensive follow-ups on numerous anonymous tips from concerned citizens. In a collaborative effort between DPD, GIITEM, and the U.S. Marshals, Ysea was located and arrested without incident. At the time of his arrest he had not been formally charged with murder but was being held without bond on unrelated charge. “As with any investigation the best way to proceed is to allow the police department to finish investigating,” County Prosecutor Doyle Johnstun said. “Because there is no bond on him for the other charges he will remain incarcerated for the time being.” Ysea is being charged with first and second degree murder, second degree burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond. |
