DFD Toys for Tots drive continues By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch The Douglas Fire Department was at the Food City parking lot and the Douglas Government center this past weekend collecting toys for tots. The DFD has teamed with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation in hosting a toy drive throughout Douglas. Toys can be for boys and girls up to age 11. The fireman are also collecting nonperishable items, monetary donations, new or used jackets and clothes for the Douglas community. Douglas’ Fire Department has been providing this support for the Douglas community for over 20 years. On Dec. 16 the DFD will be at the Placita Park located across from the Gadsden Hotel from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Bring a recycled or new toy or a can of food for a hayride or to play games. Items may also be dropped off at the Douglas Fire Station, on or before Dec. 17. |
