DFD food and toy drive underway

The Douglas Fire Department’s annual food and toy drive is underway. The DFD is accepting any new unwrapped toys, jackets or canned goods. They will be at Food City this Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. Pictured above representatives from Food City present the DFD with gift certificates. Pictured above are, from left to right, Lt. Matt King, Ricky Luna, Food City baker Jesus Alarcon , Food City Manager Martin Mendoza, DFD Fire Chief Mario Novoa and firefighter Silverio Yanez. Items may also be dropped off at the fire station on 10th Street.

    " Angry birds and their flocks carry diseases.... It's just a fact. Another fact is that the truck is awesome!! Yet another fact is that the truck inspires Douglas youth at the parades. The final fact is that the truck will save or help someone during its use in Douglas, and that alone makes it worth having. "
