Spike and Spikette bring Christmas cheer By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch On Dec. 14, Douglas High School Spiritline along with Spike and Spikette presented Christmas Dreams. The Christmas program was held at the DHS auditorium with two showings at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Spikette was also introduced to the Douglas community for the first time. Approximately 200 people attended the one hour showings. Participants enjoyed performances to the Grinch that stole Christmas, Peppermint Stick Parade and Justin Bieber’s “Little Drummer Boy.” The Spiritline normally goes to each school and performs their Christmas program to the students. This year Coach Andrea Arnejo changed it to be a family event. “I think it went very well” Arnejo said. “Next year it will be longer.” The Christmas program is a fundraiser for the Spiritline. There was no charge for children 10 and under with a paying adult. Adults were charged $2 each with all proceeds going to the DHS Spiritline. |
