Bulldog matmen fall to Bisbee

The Douglas High School wrestling team hosted the Bisbee Pumas in a dual meet last Wednesday in the DHS gymnasium.

The match was the last match before the team breaks for the Christmas break.

Bisbee won the match 53-18.

Michael Cardenas, wrestling for Douglas at 106-pounds, won his match by fall in 1:21.

At 113-pounds Rogelio Martinez lost by decision 12-3.

Christian Ross was defeated by technical fall 18-2 in his 120-pound match.

At 125-pounds Marco Gonzalez was pinned in 33 seconds.

Douglas forfeited its 132 pound weight class as well as its 160-pound weight class.

Saul Salinas won by forfeit at 138-pounds.

Raymond Alvarez lost by fall in 1:40 at 145-pounds while at 152 Brandon Moreno was pinned in 4:25.

At 170, Brandon Cardenas won by forfeit while Carlos Estrada won by forfeit at 189.

James Briseno lost by decision 8-5 at 195-pounds.

At heavyweight Jason Linden was pinned in 1:19.

The DHS wrestlers return to the match Jan. 9 when they take on Sahuaro in a dual match in Tucson.
