Striping scheduled for Pan American Avenue Submitted ArticleThe Arizona Department of Transportation will continue work on US 191B – known locally as Pan American Avenue - in Douglas this week as crews stripe and mark the newly repaved section of highway near the Douglas Port of Entry. On Wednesday, Dec. 12, crews will stripe crosswalks at the intersections on Pan American Avenue between First Street and 14th Street. Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., motorists will experience brief delays to allow the new paint to dry. Traffic will be stopped for approximately three minutes from the time the paint is applied. Police officers will control traffic at the intersections during and immediately after the crosswalks are painted. From 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, crews will stripe the travel lanes and traffic will be slowed in the lane occupied by the striping equipment. One through lane in the direction of the striping work will be open to allow motorists to pass. Police also will be on site during this work to monitor traffic. ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down, and be alert for construction equipment and personnel. |
