City of Douglas presents Douglas on ice, a December to remember By Trisha MaldonadoDouglas Dispatch The City of Douglas in collaboration with the Douglas Fire Department and Cochise College bring you a weekend full of fun and Christmas joy. On Dec. 15 the Cochise College Music Department will be holding a holiday musical concert on at the Douglas Government Center starting at 7 p.m. The free concert will feature Cochise College Bi-National Chorus, Douglas and Sierra Vista Instrumental Ensembles and Women’s Ensemble. The concert includes A Ceremony of Carols by Benjamin Britten, music by Charles Pachelbel, William Billings, William Hawley, Juarez, and others. On Dec. 16 The City of Douglas Recreation Douglas Fire Department will be hosting an ice skating event and toy drive on Dec. 16. The event will be on G Ave between 10th and 11th Streets from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m. Bring a new or used toy or canned food for a hayride or to play games. There will be free hot dogs and Santa Claus will be on sight for pictures. Ice skates will be available at the event to rent.
