Douglas Art Gallery presents Margo Mcartney

Published/Last Modified on Friday, January 11, 2013 10:43 AM MST

The Douglas Art Gallery is proud to present Margo Mcartney as their featured artist for the month of January.

Mcartney began experimenting with clay at a very young age. Her best friend’s grandmother introduced it to her. Over time she explored various forms of art not returning to clay until later in her life.

She began taking a ceramics class at Cochise College taught by Peter Chartrand on Saturday’s. She described putting her hands into the clay as a familiar feeling that she had not felt since childhood.

Margo retired from the active practice of law and began working regularly with clay. Her work can be seen on display in Bisbee but this will be her first featured exhibit.

The public is invited to view the show throughout the month. Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. An open reception will be held Saturday January 12 from 3 – 5 p.m.

The public is invited to  come in and support the local artists. The Gallery is located at 625 10th Street next to the Post Office.
