He was born to the late Salvador and Rosaura Lopez, September 4, 1937, in Teonadepa, Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife Guadalupe U. Lopez and son Leonardo Lopez Jr. He is survived by five children: Mary Elizabeth Ybarra (Juan David +), Yecenia Lopez, and Norberto Lopez (Imelda) of Douglas, Arizona; Gerardo Lopez (Stephanie) of Tucson, Arizona; and Cecilia Clifton (Victor) of Yuma, Arizona. Leonardo retired from Motorola in 2000, after 15 years of service. During that time he rose to the security clearance level in the maintenance department. While at Motorola, he eagerly participated in various training programs, two of which he proudly later served as a volunteer fire fighter at Motorola and as a hospital volunteer at a metropolitan hospital in Mesa. He was an active participant of the Immaculate and St. Luke’s Catholic church. Always full of life, his sense of humor was endless and brought smiles upon everyone’s faces.
