Dennis J. Reidy born August 29, 1945, in Douglas Arizona, passed away suddenly the evening of January 11, 2013 in Tubac, Arizona. His 67 years were well lived.



Dennis generously gave his time and energy to his church and numerous community organizations where he often served on committees and boards. And he will long be remembered by a wide circle of loyal friends who loved his keen wit and sharp sense of humor. He was always the life of the party and his smile lit up the room.

Dennis was a CPA in Tucson for more than 35 years. He was a champion for local business.

A life-long Wildcat, Dennis loved all things Southwestern, Mariachi music, and his custom-made boots, but he always cherished his Irish heritage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Edna Reidy.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janet; Sister, Cornella Berger; brother, Jerry (Marilyn) Reidy; aunt and uncle, Dushan and Eleanor Vlahovich; brother-in-law and sister-in-law,Donald and Jan Brandt, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday, January 18, 2013, from 6:00 P.M to 9:00 P.M. with the reciting of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Carrillo’s Tucson Mortuary (South Chapel) 240 S. Stone Ave.

Funeral Services will be at St. Ann Parish in Tubac on Saturday, January 19, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. followed by the Final Internment at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson at 12:30 P.M.

Donations can be made in honor of Dennis to St. Ann’s Parish, P.O. Box 2911, Tubac, AZ 85646 or the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County, 590 N. Tyler Ave, Nogales, AZ 85621.

    " In addition to being a very talented CPA, Dennis was a fiercely loyal friend. He was my neighbor growing up on 11th Street in Douglas and his friendship never wavered after we went different ways as adults. Dennis was my Jack Benny with the sharpest dry humor of anyone I have known. What a story-teller he was and the life of any party with his (slightly embellished) historical accounts about growing up in Douglas. He never forgot a single event or person. He never forgot his Douglas roots. He was responsible for much behind the scenes work benefiting Douglas to the very end. Dennis was fiercely loyal to the U of A to the point of keeping alive spirited rivalry with other family and friends. I could go on and on about Dennis, but the real lasting legacy he left is that Dennis will be missed by all he touched in life. Art Atonna "
