Rilda Jane (Jerry) Johnston, was born Rilda Jane Hill in Duncan, Arizona, November 13, 1928. She passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Sierra Vista, Arizona, on January 2, 2013, at the age of 84.


Rilda (Jerry) Johnston , worked many happy years at the Phelps Dodge Mercantile Company located in Douglas, Arizona. She finished her working career as owner / operator of the “Golden Girls” Adult assisted living home in Tucson Arizona.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Richard Johnston of Sierra Vista, AZ; Charles Johnston of Santa Fe, NM; Deborah Kalar Crowder of Tucson, AZ.; and Everill Johnston of Sierra Vista, AZ.; and 6 Grandchildren/numerous step Grandchildren and a growing number of Great Grandchildren.

Rilda (Jerry) was preceded in death by her husband Honsie Eugene (Gene) Johnston in Douglas, Arizona.

Surviving Sister and Brothers are; Francis Gould, Bill Hill, and Harry Hill all of Duncan ,Arizona.

Memorial Services for the family and friends, will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2750 East Cardinal Drive, Sierra Vista, Arizona.

It is hoped that the memories of her spirit of kindness and generosity will be carried on by all those to whom she touched in their lives.

    " My Aunt Jerry was an awesome women she not only took care of her family Myself and my Brothers and sister ,she took care of anyone that needed her,there is no doubt that that she is in the hearts of many forever!
