Faras spelling bee winners

Faras Elementary in Pirtleville held their annual spelling bee on Jan. 23. First place went to fourth grader America Rojas and the runner-up was fifth grader Gustavo Nieblas-Molina. Ms. Rojas will be attending the Cochise County Spelling Bee on Feb. 9. If she is not able to attend Nieblas-Molina will take her place. The winning word for Ms. Rojas was “admirer.” The county spelling bee will be held at the Cochise College Student Union, Community Room in Sierra Vista, registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Pictured above are Gustavo Nieblas-Molina, 10 and America Rojas, 10.
