The Douglas Art Gallery is proud to present the work of Raul Montano Jr. and David and Sara Velasco.

Montano has amazed many people with his ability to create futurist worlds from a blank piece of poster board, a mental layout and spray paint.
His technique is a series of well-placed layers and textures, predetermined blocking and masking using lids, bowls and recycled objects.
Most recently he has been working with other forms of art such as photography, oil and water colors he also includes pencil drawings in his exhibit
David and Sara Velasco, whom also happen to be Montano’s maternal grandparents, will also have their lapidary and wood work on display.
Lapidary work is the polishing and cutting of stones. They make necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings out of raw silver and stones such as turquoise.
Aside from his lapidary work, Velasco also works well with mesquite wood. He makes furniture, carvings and jewelry boxes out of the wood.
The Douglas Art Gallery will hold an opening reception for them on Feb. 9 from 5–7 p.m.
The gallery is opened Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. and located at 625 10th Street next to the Post Office.
