“Everyone has played a part in this momentous occasion,” DHS Principal Randy Walker told the graduates. “Tonight truly is a ceremony because they could have chosen not to be here. I am proud to be a part of this occasion as you are all proud of them for their accomplishments.”

Walker said through determination and hard work he can truly say all three graduates have met all state and district requirements needed to graduate.

DUSD Superintendent Sheila Rogers also addressed the three graduates.

“I am very proud to stand before you tonight to see the results of your perseverance in obtaining your high school diploma,” she said. “It shows a strong commitment from each one of you and the support of all of your families. … The fact you are here tonight speaks volumes of what your future can hold for you. … I believe that each of you has a gift to be shared and tonight is the beginning of that sharing.”
